Our Black Opal Heart is Dendrite Opal. It is also known as Merlinite or Moss Opal. Dendritic Opal is a form of common opal with dark dendrites - inclusions of iron, manganese, or other metallic oxides that create bold patterns within the gem. Each heart has its own unique swirl of grey creams, and black. Please understand that there may be slight variations in texture, pattern, and/or color on the pieces you receive.
